Going in more detail about the plot will bring up a lot of spoilers.... so lets leave the plot at that...
though personally i dint come across any horror in it yet ^^
Animation - Blassreiter according to me is an anime which is most likely introducing us to a new generation of anime with a very nice blending of 2D and 3D animation...... which so far,according to me, hasnt been seen so WIDELY used in any anime *SERIES.
Though there are a few flaws in it like the leg of the character when in 3d and when getting on the bike, doesn't actually touch the ground......
that was just one scene though.... other wise nicely done.....
a few scenes have been made similarly to other anime series like
when, Jil transforms in the Van.... Reminds me of the Transformation in Blood the Last Vampire......
Story - The First box set feels like as if its just introducing us to the world of Blassreiter. The Story seems to be done very nicely.....
i really loved the Gerd story Arc (1-6) a lot.....
Its more of a combination of Mecha Action , Moto GP, bit of Blood(the part about a plague taking over and that the main character is like a Demoniac, the evil creatures who he must slay) and a slight bit of Darker Than Black(like the main guy getting orders and the way they show the XAT[some what like the sector 14 or something in DTB)
Though its animation and execution of the story separates it from the things above
Audio - The Main part...... FUNi...... THAT WAS FREAKING EXCELLENT.......
the Dub just rocks... especially Todd, if you think that his voice will irritate you through out the series like how it did in Claymore and D.Grayman.... You Are Wrong.... Todd is just PERFECT for Joseph... He does it even better than the Jap guy.....Todd has kind of changed the tune to his voice for this role... i bet at start you wont even recognize its him.......
For beginners to Anime... you may get confused btw the voice of Christopher Sabot and Travis William at the start but dont worry you will get used to it in time......
The dub does stray a bit from the original script but its FUNi....
and just like other FUNi animes like DTB, this anime makes those changes have a similar meaning... though not exact all the time.....
I give the First Box Set a 8.9/10
Definitely worth a look
oh and a small note
you may not like ep 01
but trust me it gets better way better......
